How to start a YouTube channel in Saudi Arabia
Set the channel up for Saudi search from day one
Open the channel on a Google account you control, set Saudi Arabia as the country in Studio, verify with a Saudi mobile number, write the name and description in Arabic, and plan for the Mawthooq licence before the first brand deal.
Arabic first, Khaleeji where it fits
Saudi viewers search in Arabic. An Arabic name with the niche in it is found more often than an English nickname; Khaleeji dialect works for entertainment, standard Arabic for education and religion.
Set the channel country to Saudi Arabia
Studio → Settings → Channel → Basic info → Country of residence. This is what YouTube checks against the availability lists and what AdSense expects the payment address to match.
2-Step Verification and advanced features
Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account, then verify the channel with a Saudi mobile number (STC, Mobily and Zain all receive the code) to get advanced features.
A handle that matches Snapchat and X
Short, Latin script, no numbers; Snapchat and X matter more in Saudi Arabia than in most markets.
Description in the words viewers search
Write it in Arabic with the phrases people type ("شروط الربح من اليوتيوب", "أفضل سيارة تحت 100 ألف", "وصفات رمضان"), and name the upload days.
First five videos as one series
Five videos on one promise tell YouTube exactly who to show you to. Mixing gaming, cars and vlogs in week one tells it nothing.
Licence before paid content
Advertising on social media in Saudi Arabia requires the Mawthooq licence from GCAM; apply before your first brand deal.
Upload defaults
Set video language to Arabic, the caption language, and the location. Default to public and schedule for 8–11 pm AST, and much later in Ramadan.
Study a channel in your niche with the Channel Analyzer before you pick a name, then draft your first titles with the Video Title Generator. Full setup walkthrough: how to start a YouTube channel.
Best YouTube niche in Saudi Arabia
Niches that grow and pay for Saudi audiences
The niches growing in Saudi Arabia in 2026 are gaming, cars, comedy, football, cooking, personal finance, tech, travel, religious content and family vlogs. Earning potential is qualitative and reflects advertiser demand for each topic.
Gaming
Medium earning potentialSaudi Arabia is one of the largest gaming markets in the world; archived live streams count as watch hours.
Cars
High earning potentialOne of the strongest car-content markets anywhere; dealer and brand advertising is heavy.
Comedy
Medium earning potentialKhaleeji humor travels across the Gulf; sketches build loyal audiences.
Football (Saudi Pro League, the national team)
Medium earning potentialThe Pro League's star signings made Saudi football a global conversation; reactions rank within minutes.
Cooking
Medium earning potentialSaudi and Gulf recipes, Ramadan series and coffee culture; strong food-brand advertising.
Personal finance
High earning potentialTadawul investing, savings and real-estate explainers draw the highest-paying advertisers in the Gulf.
Tech
High earning potentialGadgets and apps for a high-income audience; strong electronics-retailer advertising.
Travel
High earning potentialDomestic tourism (AlUla, the Red Sea, Riyadh Season) is growing fast; tourism bodies advertise heavily.
Religious content
Low earning potentialDaily and Ramadan demand, long sessions, strong loyalty across the Arab world.
Family vlogs
Medium earning potentialFamily and home content has loyal daily viewers and strong brand-deal demand.
Earning potential is qualitative (Low / Medium / High) and reflects advertiser demand and audience country, not a figure any channel will earn.
Saturated locally: reuploaded football footage, generic luxury content and "الربح من الانترنت" channels without a product. Rights holders claim within hours, and the rest is interchangeable.
Low local competition: plain-Arabic explainers of Saudi systems (ZATCA, Absher, mortgages, freelance licences), region-level content outside Riyadh and Jeddah, English explainers of life in Saudi Arabia for expats and visitors, and women-led content in niches where it is still rare.
Local audience or global audience? Creators in Saudi Arabia have the highest-RPM audience in the Arab world whatever they choose. Arabic content reaches the Gulf, Egypt and the Levant; English content on Saudi travel, football and Riyadh Season reaches the UK, US and India with the Saudi angle as the draw.

How to get views and subscribers in Saudi Arabia
Grow from Saudi audiences
Saudi viewers search in Arabic, watch from 8 to 11 pm AST and much later in Ramadan, and arrive from Snapchat and X as much as from search, so Arabic titles, large Arabic thumbnail text, Ramadan and Riyadh Season timing and cross-posting to Snapchat do most of the work.
Titles and keywords in the words Saudi viewers type
Saudis search in Arabic, in Khaleeji dialect for entertainment and standard Arabic for education and religion. Put the query first, keep titles under 60 characters, and let the thumbnail carry the emotion.
شروط الربح من اليوتيوب في السعودية 2026
The highest-volume monetization query in Saudi Arabic; the year signals freshness.
أفضل سيارة تحت 100 ألف ريال (2026)
Budget phrase in riyals and a ranking promise.
الهلال ضد النصر: ردة فعل الجماهير بعد الديربي
Match for search, reaction for the click; publish within an hour of full time.
كيف تبدأ الاستثمار في تداول بـ 1000 ريال
A platform Saudis search constantly plus a concrete figure.
Riyadh Season 2026: Full Guide, Prices and Tips
The expat and visitor audience searches in English.
أشياء تصير بس في السعودية
A relatable dialect hook for the Shorts feed that travels across the Gulf.
Paste a topic into the YouTube Keyword Generator to see the exact phrases searched from Saudi Arabia, then write the title with the Video Title Generator.
Thumbnails that work for Saudi viewers
Large Arabic text (two or three words) in a bold font, expressive faces where the creator shows their face, and bright colours; Arabic thumbnails carry more text than Western ones. What fails is small text and English on an Arabic channel.
Make the thumbnail in the Thumbnail Maker and run it through the Thumbnail Analyzer, which scores your thumbnail before you upload so you can compare two versions side by side.
Posting time in Arabia Standard Time (AST)
Saudi viewing peaks from 8 to 11 pm AST on weekdays and shifts past midnight in Ramadan, with the weekend on Friday and Saturday. Egypt is one hour behind, the UK three hours behind; a 9 pm AST upload lands across the Arab world in the evening. The Best Time to Post tool reads your own channel's viewer activity by hour and day, which beats any general rule once you have a few weeks of data.
Local trends, festivals and sport
Ramadan and both Eids, Riyadh Season from October, Founding Day on 22 February, National Day on 23 September, the Saudi Pro League, the Hajj season, back to school and White Friday are the reliable spikes. Prepare the Ramadan series a month early so it ranks before the search peak.
Community posts and comments in the audience's language
Cross-post every upload on Snapchat and X with the thumbnail and a one-line hook; Saudi audiences discover channels there more than in most markets. Reply in Arabic.
Collaborations with Saudi creators at your size
Collaborate with creators at your size in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam. Two 5,000-subscriber channels swapping appearances each gain a new audience; creator WhatsApp groups and agency events are where these start.
Playlists and end screens
Group videos into playlists named with the search phrase, not a clever title, so the playlist itself ranks. Put the next video in the series on the end screen; a session that continues on your channel is the strongest signal you can send.
What the algorithm actually rewards
YouTube recommends videos that viewers watch for longer, rate as satisfying in surveys, and come back to. It does not reward upload frequency on its own, tags on their own, or keyword stuffing. Read the plain-language breakdown in the YouTube algorithm guide and check each upload with the Video SEO Checker before it goes live.
YouTube Shorts in Saudi Arabia
Shorts as a monetization lane for Saudi creators
Shorts in Saudi Arabia reach the fan-funding tier at 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days and full monetization at 10 million, counted as engaged views; the Snapchat-trained audience makes the Shorts lane realistic for comedy, cars, gaming and football channels.
- 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days for the fan-funding tier; 10 million for full monetization.
- Qualified means engaged views: the viewer stays past the first seconds, and loops are not counted.
- Engaged views sit in YouTube Analytics and run below the dashboard view count.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days.
- 3,000 qualified public watch hours in 12 months for the fan-funding tier; 4,000 for full monetization.
- Public uploads, podcasts and archived live streams count; Shorts watch time does not.
- Hours are checked over a rolling 12 months, so old public videos keep contributing.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days.
A channel qualifies on whichever lane it fills first. Creators in Saudi Arabia have a high long-form RPM and an audience already fluent in vertical video, so Shorts are best used to find new viewers across the Gulf and send them to long-form, while comedy, cars and gaming channels can still reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours.
Local Shorts tactics
- Burn Arabic captions into the frame; most Shorts are watched without sound.
- Use only copyright-safe audio; Arabic music rights holders claim fast and a claimed Short counts for nothing.
- Hashtags in Arabic (#السعودية #كوميديا #سيارات) plus one in English rather than ten generic ones.
- Post Shorts daily during Ramadan, Riyadh Season and the football season, and point each one at a long-form video in the pinned comment.
- Watch engaged views in Analytics, not the dashboard count; loops and the first seconds do not count toward the 3M and 10M thresholds.
Shorts RPM is far lower than long-form everywhere (third-party benchmarks put it around 0.03–0.15 USD per 1,000 views), so treat Shorts as the lane that builds subscribers and feeds long-form, not as the main earner. Read how Shorts monetization works for the revenue-share rules.
Write hashtags in your audience's language with the Shorts Tags Generator, pick a title with the Shorts Title Generator, see what is rising in Trending Shorts Ideas and score each Short with the Shorts SEO Checker.
YouTube monetization requirements in Saudi Arabia
Requirements and the 1 February 2027 change
In Saudi Arabia you can join the YouTube Partner Program at 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified watch hours or 10 million qualified Shorts views; the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers is also available. From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views.
| Requirement | Fan funding and Shopping (500 subscribers) | Full monetization (1,000 subscribers) |
|---|---|---|
| Subscribers | 500 | 1,000 |
| Long-form path | 3,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months | 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months |
| Shorts path | 3 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days | 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days |
| Public uploads | 3 in the last 90 days | Not required |
| Earns from | Memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, Jewels and gifts, Shopping | Everything in the fan-funding tier plus ad revenue and YouTube Premium revenue |
| Both tiers also need | Monetization-policy compliance, YPP availability in the channel's country, no active Community Guidelines strike, 2-Step Verification, advanced features access, one active AdSense for YouTube account | Same |
Thresholds as published on the YouTube Partner Program overview and eligibility and Overview of the expanded YouTube Partner Program pages, checked 22 October 2026. Saudi Arabia appears on the standard YPP availability list, on the expanded (500-subscriber) list, and on the Super Chat and Super Stickers list.
days until the ad-revenue threshold doubles
Apply before 1 February 2027 and your channel is reviewed on 4,000 hours / 10M Shorts views. After that date new applicants need 8,000 hours / 20M Shorts views. The date that matters is when the application reaches YouTube, not when the reviewer decides; review takes about a month and a rejection means a 30-day wait before reapplying, so December is the last month with room for one retry. Announced by YouTube on 10 August 2026 (YouTube blog). The subscriber count and the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier do not change.
What counts as qualified
Counts
- Public long-form videos, including podcasts
- Live streams archived as public videos
- Public Shorts that generate engaged views (the viewer stays past the first seconds; loops do not count)
- Shorts watch time counts only toward the Shorts path, long-form only toward watch hours
Does not count
- Private, unlisted and deleted videos
- Live streams that are not archived
- Views generated while a video or Short is shown as an ad
- Image posts that appear in the Shorts feed
Source: YouTube blog: qualified watch hours and Shorts views. Setting an old video to private removes its hours the same day.
Apply step by step in YouTube Studio
Check in 30 seconds whether you already meet a tier. Track subscribers, qualified watch hours and engaged Shorts views toward both thresholds in the Channel Analyzer; get the full requirements breakdown in the YouTube monetization guide and the 4,000 watch hours guide.
What shortens the path
Actions that add qualified hours and views, not promises
Nothing on this list promises approval. Each item is an action that adds qualified watch time or engaged Shorts views to your channel, and names the tool that performs it.
Fix the ten lowest-scoring videos first
Run SEO Analysis on your weakest uploads and rewrite titles, descriptions and tags where the score flags gaps. Every extra view on an existing public video adds qualified watch time. Tool: SEO Analysis.
Lengthen average view duration before adding uploads
Open Channel Details, sort by average view duration, and study the videos viewers finish. Make the next video in that shape rather than adding more of what people leave. Tool: Channel Details.
Archive every live stream as a public video
A live stream that is not archived adds nothing. Archived public streams count as long-form watch hours.
Hide old uploads only after approval
Setting a video to private removes its watch hours the same day. Clean up embarrassing early videos once the channel is in the program, not before.
Take the Shorts lane if your audience is phone-first
If most of your viewers watch on mobile, 3 million engaged Shorts views in 90 days can arrive before 3,000 watch hours. Watch engaged views, not the dashboard count. Tool: Shorts SEO Checker.
Read the rejection reasons before you apply
Most 2026 rejections cite inauthentic or mass-produced content, reused content with nothing added, misleading titles or thumbnails, or AdSense problems. Check each one against your channel before submitting. Tool: guide to monetization rejections.
How to get paid by YouTube in Saudi Arabia
Getting paid in riyals
AdSense for YouTube pays creators in Saudi Arabia in US dollars by wire transfer to a Saudi bank or by check once the balance reaches 100 USD; the bank converts to riyals at the pegged rate, and a wire arrives within 15 business days.
Payment methods available in Saudi Arabia
| Method | Currency and arrival | Best for and what to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Wire transfer to a Saudi bank | USD; up to 15 business days after issue (21st–26th) | Almost every creator in Saudi Arabia. Any Al Rajhi, SNB, Riyad Bank, Alinma or similar account that accepts inbound SWIFT wires; the riyal is pegged to the dollar, so conversion is predictable. Expect a possible inbound fee. |
| Wire transfer to a USD account at a Saudi bank | USD; up to 15 business days after issue (21st–26th) | Creators who want to hold dollars or spend abroad. A foreign-currency account that accepts inbound SWIFT wires receives the payment without conversion; with the riyal pegged, a riyal account loses little, so compare fees first. |
| Check | USD; 2–4 weeks in the mail, then bank clearing | Rarely the right choice; slow and some banks charge to clear. Use only if the others are impossible. |
| EFT and Hyperwallet | Not listed for Saudi Arabia | Not available for YouTube payments in Saudi Arabia on the AdSense country table as of October 2026. |
Methods as listed in the AdSense payment methods by country table for YouTube payments, checked 22 October 2026. Arrival times from Payment timelines for AdSense for YouTube.
Wire transfer is the working route. Saudi Arabia is not on the EFT list, so AdSense sends a SWIFT wire in US dollars. Because the riyal is pegged to the dollar, the conversion is predictable; the bank credits riyals at the pegged rate minus any inbound fee. Ask the branch for the SWIFT/BIC code and confirm the account accepts inbound foreign transfers.
What the bank asks for: the 24-character Saudi IBAN, the SWIFT/BIC code and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it, matching your national ID or Iqama. Some banks ask for the source of funds on regular foreign credits; AdSense receipts answer that.
Check as a fallback. A check is the only other listed method: two to four weeks in the mail, then bank clearing, and some banks charge to clear it; it suits only creators who cannot receive a wire.
Set up AdSense for YouTube payments step by step
- 1
Reach the payment-method selection threshold
AdSense lets you add a payment method once your balance passes a small verification amount; add it well before you expect to cross the payment threshold for your currency.
- 2
Add a wire transfer to a Saudi bank account
In AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods, choose the method and enter the IBAN, the SWIFT/BIC code, and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. The beneficiary name must match the AdSense payee name exactly.
- 3
Verify your address with the PIN
Google mails a PIN to your Saudi Arabia postal address once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense within four months or payments pause.
- 4
Verify your identity
Upload a government-issued ID in the payee's name when AdSense asks; the name on the ID, the AdSense account and the bank account must all match.
- 5
Submit your tax information
Open AdSense → Payments → Manage settings → United States tax info and complete the form the guide selects for you so withholding is applied at the correct rate for your country.
- 6
Watch the monthly timeline
Earnings finalize around the 3rd, payment details lock on the 20th, and payments are issued between the 21st and 26th; track your balance toward the threshold from the Channel Analyzer.
ToolChannel Analyzer
The monthly payment timeline
Common holds and how to clear them
Address verification (PIN)
Google mails a PIN once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense. If it does not arrive after three requests, use the document-based option.
Identity verification
Upload a government ID that matches the payee name exactly. A mismatch between the AdSense name and the bank account name is the most common wire rejection.
Tax information
Submit the form in AdSense → Payments → Manage settings. Without it, 24% backup withholding applies to worldwide earnings for individuals.
Payment method missing
Add it before the 20th of the month you expect to cross the threshold.
Worked example: a 100 USD payment arriving in Saudi Arabia
Example only. A 100 USD payment issued on the 24th by wire reaches your Saudi bank within 15 business days and is credited in riyals at the pegged rate, minus any inbound fee, so the riyal figure is predictable. If the bank asks for the source of funds, the AdSense receipt is the answer. Keep the statement line with the receipt for ZATCA.

Taxes for YouTube creators in Saudi Arabia
Tax and legal basics for Saudi creators
Saudi Arabia has no personal income tax for individuals, but paid content requires the GCAM Mawthooq licence, VAT registration applies above the threshold, a freelance licence lets you invoice brands, and the W-8BEN in AdSense leaves 30% withholding on US-viewer earnings because there is no Saudi–US income tax treaty.
No personal income tax, but not no rules. Saudi Arabia does not levy income tax on individuals' employment or personal income; Zakat and corporate rules apply to businesses. Creators who run the channel as a business, or who want to invoice brands, usually obtain a freelance licence through the official freelance platform.
The Mawthooq licence. The General Commission for Audiovisual Media requires the Mawthooq licence for advertising on social media. It applies to brand deals and sponsored content, not to AdSense revenue itself; operating without it risks fines.
VAT and the W-8BEN. VAT registration with ZATCA becomes compulsory once taxable supplies pass the threshold; AdSense income from Google's overseas entity and domestic brand deals are treated differently. Submit the W-8BEN as a Saudi resident; there is no Saudi–US income tax treaty, so 30% is withheld from the portion of earnings that comes from US viewers. Without any form, 24% of worldwide earnings is withheld.
Record-keeping. Keep every AdSense receipt and bank statement, the Mawthooq licence, and invoices for brand deals; banks and ZATCA ask for them.
The form inside AdSense is the W-8BEN. Fill it before the first payment so withholding matches your treaty position.
Official page: Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. US withholding rules for creators outside the US: U.S. tax requirements for YouTube earnings.
Keep these records
AdSense payment receipts
Download the monthly receipt from Payments → Transactions.
Bank statements
Each wire credit, matched to the receipt; banks ask for source of funds.
Mawthooq licence
The GCAM licence and its renewal.
Freelance licence and VAT registration (if any)
Plus VAT returns where applicable.
Brand-deal contracts and invoices
Sponsored content falls under the licence and may carry VAT; keep them separate from AdSense.
Equipment and software receipts
Relevant if you operate through a business; ask your adviser.
How much YouTube pays in Saudi Arabia
Realistic earnings for Saudi audiences
Third-party benchmarks put long-form RPM for Saudi audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views in October 2026, the highest in the Arab world, with Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD; finance, cars and tech sit at the top of the range and comedy at the bottom.
| Scenario | Long-form | Shorts |
|---|---|---|
| Benchmark RPM per 1,000 views | 4–10 USD | 0.03–0.15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mostly Saudi audience (illustrative) | about 400–1,000 USD | about 3–15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mixed audience incl. US/UK (illustrative) | higher, because the US and UK share is paid at 5–12 USD RPM | about 3–15 USD |
Industry estimate, Oct 2026, varies by niche and season. Illustrative rows multiply the benchmark range by views; they are not earnings data from any channel.
RPM is what a creator receives per 1,000 views after YouTube's share; CPM is what advertisers pay. Saudi-audience RPM is high because advertisers bid heavily for a large, high-income audience, and Gulf advertisers often book Saudi Arabia and the UAE together. Finance, cars, real estate and tech content attracts the highest-paying ads, comedy and entertainment the lowest, and a video over eight minutes with mid-roll ads out-earns a short one with the same views.
Audience country matters more than creator country. A creator in Saudi Arabia whose viewers are mostly in the US, UK, Australia or Canada is paid at those countries' rates, which is why English-language content on Saudi travel, football and Riyadh Season tends to show a higher RPM than local-language content with the same view count.
Shorts are paid from a shared pool and typically show 0.03–0.15 USD RPM. Long-form videos over eight minutes can carry mid-roll ads, which is the single biggest lever on long-form RPM.
Compare Saudi Arabia with other markets in the YouTube RPM by country guide and by topic in YouTube RPM by niche; earn before ad revenue with the ideas in how to make money on YouTube without monetization.
More ways to earn in Saudi Arabia
Income beyond ad revenue
Beyond ad revenue, creators in Saudi Arabia have memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping available with the fan-funding tier, and brand deals are a larger share of creator income in Saudi Arabia than almost anywhere, provided you hold the Mawthooq licence.
Memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping
All available to Saudi channels with the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers. Saudi audiences are among the most active Super Chat users on the platform; your share arrives through AdSense.
Brand deals with Saudi and Gulf companies
Car dealers, banks, telecoms, tourism bodies and retailers spend heavily on creators. Hold the Mawthooq licence, quote in riyals, and keep a media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers and audience split by country.
Affiliate programs that pay in riyals
Amazon.sa, Noon and Jarir programs pay to Saudi accounts with no conversion; White Friday and Ramadan are the peaks.
YouTube Shopping
Tag products from your own store or an affiliate program in videos and Shorts. Available with the fan-funding tier where Shopping is offered.
Brand deals
Brands price deals on views and audience country. Keep a one-page media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers and quote in your local currency plus USD.
Affiliate links
Programs that pay to local bank accounts avoid a second currency conversion. Disclose paid links in the description and in the video.
Digital products and courses
A template, preset, PDF or course sells to a small audience well before ad revenue is meaningful. Sell through a platform that pays out in your currency.

Twelve months of local content angles

Mistakes that stall channels in Saudi Arabia
Mistakes that stall Saudi channels
The patterns that stall Saudi channels are sponsored content without the Mawthooq licence, reuploaded football footage, three niches on one channel, filming people without consent, a payee name that does not match the bank account, and hiding old videos before approval. Each has a fix.
Sponsored content without the Mawthooq licence
Advertising without the GCAM licence risks fines. Fix: apply before your first brand deal.
Reuploading Pro League or TV footage
Broadcasters claim it within hours and the channel collects strikes. Fix: react to the moment with your own camera and voice instead of showing the broadcast.
Three niches on one channel
A car review, a gaming stream and a vlog teach YouTube nothing about who to recommend you to. Fix: one niche for the first 30 videos.
Filming people without consent
Saudi privacy law is strict about photographing people without permission. Fix: blur bystanders and get consent from anyone featured.
Name mismatch between AdSense and the bank
A wire to an account whose name differs from the AdSense payee name is returned to the AdSense balance. Fix: make the payee name identical to your national ID or Iqama and to the name the bank prints on the account.
Ignoring Shorts
Comedy, cars and gaming channels often reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours. Fix: cut every long video into Shorts with Arabic captions.
Fake views from view-selling sites
Views from ad campaigns and view services do not count as qualified, and the pattern can get the application rejected. Fix: stop, delete nothing, and let real watch time accumulate.
Hiding old videos before approval
Setting early uploads to private removes their watch hours the same day. Fix: leave them public until the channel is accepted.
Applying with an unverified AdSense account
Address PIN and identity checks unresolved means the review stalls. Fix: clear every AdSense notification before you submit the YPP application.

YouTube monetization in Saudi Arabia: your questions
Short answers that stand on their own. Each restates the country and the number so it reads correctly when quoted alone.
How many subscribers do you need to make money on YouTube in Saudi Arabia?
In Saudi Arabia you need 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days for full monetization. The fan-funding tier is also available in Saudi Arabia at 500 subscribers with 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views plus three public uploads in 90 days.
How do I get paid by YouTube in Saudi Arabia?
AdSense for YouTube pays creators in Saudi Arabia in US dollars by wire transfer to a Saudi bank or by check once the balance reaches 100 USD. Add the wire in AdSense → Payments with your IBAN, SWIFT code and the account name exactly as printed; the bank credits riyals at the pegged rate. A check is slower: two to four weeks in the mail, then bank clearing.
When does YouTube pay in Saudi Arabia?
AdSense finalizes the previous month's earnings around the 3rd, locks payment details on the 20th, and issues payments between the 21st and 26th if the balance on the 20th is at least 100 USD. A wire transfer to a Saudi bank can then take up to 15 business days; a check takes two to four weeks plus clearing.
How much does YouTube pay in Saudi Arabia per 1,000 views?
Third-party benchmarks for October 2026 put long-form RPM for Saudi audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views, the highest in the Arab world, and Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD, varying by niche and season. Finance, cars, real estate and tech content sits at the top of that range, comedy and entertainment at the bottom, and UAE viewers are paid at similar rates.
Do I need a Mawthooq licence for YouTube?
For paid promotional content, yes: the General Commission for Audiovisual Media requires the Mawthooq licence for advertising on social media, including brand deals and sponsored content on YouTube, and operating without it risks fines. AdSense ad revenue itself does not require the licence, but most creators who work with brands also hold a freelance licence to invoice them. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is YouTube income taxed in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Arabia has no personal income tax for individuals, but VAT registration with ZATCA applies once taxable supplies pass the threshold, sponsored content requires the Mawthooq licence, and a channel run as a business follows business rules. Google also withholds 30% of earnings from US viewers after you submit a W-8BEN, because there is no Saudi–US income tax treaty. This is general information, not tax advice.
Is Super Chat available in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Saudi Arabia is on YouTube's Super Chat and Super Stickers availability list and on the expanded YouTube Partner Program list, so channels set to Saudi Arabia can turn on memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and Shopping at the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier. Saudi audiences are among the most active Super Chat users on the platform; your share arrives through AdSense.
What changes for creators in Saudi Arabia on 1 February 2027?
From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue anywhere, including Saudi Arabia, need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days or 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, double the current 4,000 hours or 10 million views. The 500-subscriber fan-funding tier does not change, and channels already in the program keep their status.
