Как запустить канал на YouTube в the United Arab Emirates
Set the channel up for UAE search from day one
Open the channel on a Google account you control, set the United Arab Emirates as the country in Studio, verify with a UAE mobile number, decide between Arabic and English before the name, and plan for the advertiser permit before the first brand deal.
Arabic or English, decided before the name
Arabic content reaches the whole Gulf and the Arab world; English content reaches the UAE's expat majority plus the UK, India and the US. Pick one; a Hindi or Urdu channel made in the UAE is a third option with a large audience.
Set the channel country to the United Arab Emirates
Studio → Settings → Channel → Basic info → Country of residence. This is what YouTube checks against the availability lists and what AdSense expects the payment address to match.
2-Step Verification and advanced features
Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account, then verify the channel with a UAE mobile number (Etisalat by e& and du both receive the code) to get advanced features.
A handle that matches every other platform
Short, no numbers, identical on Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat, which matter more in the Gulf than elsewhere.
Description in the words viewers search
Write it with the phrases people type ("how to get monetized on YouTube UAE", "Dubai rent 2026", "best cars under 100k AED"), name the upload day, and add a business email for brand deals.
First five videos as one series
Five videos on one promise tell YouTube exactly who to show you to. Mixing cars, finance and vlogs in week one tells it nothing.
Permit before paid content
Any paid promotion on social media in the UAE requires the UAE Media Council advertiser permit; apply before your first brand deal, and note the fee is waived for the first years under the current scheme.
Upload defaults
Set video language to Arabic or English, caption language, and the location. Default to public and schedule for 8–11 pm GST, and later in Ramadan.
Study a channel in your niche with the Channel Analyzer before you pick a name, then draft your first titles with the Video Title Generator. Full setup walkthrough: how to start a YouTube channel.

Niches that grow and pay for UAE audiences
The niches growing in the UAE in 2026 are Dubai life and real estate, cars, personal finance, food, travel, tech, fitness, business, Arabic comedy and expat guides. Earning potential is qualitative and reflects advertiser demand for each topic.
Dubai life and real estate
High earning potentialRent, buying, communities and the cost of living are searched worldwide by people moving to the UAE; property advertisers pay well.
Cars
High earning potentialOne of the strongest car-content markets anywhere; dealer and brand advertising is heavy.
Personal finance
High earning potentialExpat investing, salary and savings explainers draw the highest-paying advertisers in the Gulf.
Food
Medium earning potentialDubai restaurant, Ramadan and multicultural food content has a large local and regional audience.
Travel
High earning potentialDubai as a destination and as a hub for weekend trips; airlines and hotels advertise heavily.
Tech
High earning potentialGadgets and apps for a high-income audience; strong electronics-retailer advertising.
Fitness
Medium earning potentialGym culture and supplement advertisers; strong brand-deal market.
Business and freelancing
High earning potentialCompany setup, free zones and freelance permits are searched worldwide with high intent.
Arabic comedy
Medium earning potentialKhaleeji and Egyptian-style comedy made in the UAE travels across the Gulf.
Expat guides
High earning potentialVisa, banking and first-month content in English, Hindi and Urdu reaches viewers before they arrive.
Earning potential is qualitative (Low / Medium / High) and reflects advertiser demand and audience country, not a figure any channel will earn.
Saturated locally: generic luxury vlogs, reuploaded football footage, and "make money online" channels without a product. The videos are interchangeable, so watch time stays low.
Low local competition: plain-English explainers of UAE systems (visas, Emirates ID, banking, corporate tax), emirate-level content outside Dubai, Hindi and Urdu versions of expat guides, and Arabic explainers of the same topics for Gulf viewers.
Local audience or global audience? Creators in the UAE have a high-RPM audience whatever language they choose. English content reaches the UK, India and the US; Arabic content reaches Saudi Arabia and the Gulf at similar rates; Hindi and Urdu content reaches South Asia at lower rates but enormous volume, with the UAE angle as the draw.

Grow from UAE audiences
UAE viewers search in English and Arabic, watch from 8 to 11 pm GST and much later in Ramadan, and arrive from Instagram and Snapchat as much as from search, so the right language for the audience, Dubai-specific topics, Ramadan and shopping-festival timing and cross-posting to Instagram do most of the work.
Titles and keywords in the words UAE viewers type
UAE searchers type specific queries in English or Arabic with local terms (Emirates ID, free zone, DEWA). Put the query first, keep titles under 60 characters, and make the thumbnail text say something the title does not.

Things that only happen in Dubai
A curiosity hook for the Shorts feed that travels worldwide.
Paste a topic into the YouTube Keyword Generator to see the exact phrases searched from the United Arab Emirates, then write the title with the Video Title Generator.
Thumbnails that work for UAE viewers
Faces with a clear expression, three words of text that add to the title, and clean, bright backgrounds; Arabic thumbnails carry more text. What fails is clutter and text that repeats the title.
Make the thumbnail in the Thumbnail Maker and run it through the Thumbnail Analyzer, which scores your thumbnail before you upload so you can compare two versions side by side.
Posting time in Gulf Standard Time (GST)
UAE viewing peaks from 8 to 11 pm GST on weekdays and shifts past midnight in Ramadan, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. India is 1.5 hours ahead, the UK four hours behind and the US East Coast eight or nine hours behind, so a 9 pm GST upload lands in London at teatime and New York at lunch. The Best Time to Post tool reads your own channel's viewer activity by hour and day, which beats any general rule once you have a few weeks of data.
Local trends, festivals and sport
Dubai Shopping Festival in January, Ramadan and both Eids, the summer exodus, back to school in late August, the Dubai Marathon, National Day on 2 December, Black Friday and the year-end season are the reliable spikes. Prepare the Ramadan series a month early so it ranks before the search peak.
Community posts and comments in the audience's language
Cross-post every upload on Instagram with the thumbnail and a one-line hook; Gulf audiences discover channels there more than in most markets. Reply in the language the comment used.
Collaborations with UAE creators at your size
Collaborate with creators at your size in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Two 5,000-subscriber channels swapping appearances each gain a new audience; creator WhatsApp groups and agency events are where these start.
Playlists and end screens
Group videos into playlists named with the search phrase, not a clever title, so the playlist itself ranks. Put the next video in the series on the end screen; a session that continues on your channel is the strongest signal you can send.
What the algorithm actually rewards
YouTube recommends videos that viewers watch for longer, rate as satisfying in surveys, and come back to. It does not reward upload frequency on its own, tags on their own, or keyword stuffing. Read the plain-language breakdown in the YouTube algorithm guide and check each upload with the Video SEO Checker before it goes live.
YouTube Shorts в the United Arab Emirates
Shorts as a monetization lane for UAE creators
Shorts in the UAE reach the fan-funding tier at 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days and full monetization at 10 million, counted as engaged views; the Instagram-trained Gulf audience makes the Shorts lane realistic for cars, food, comedy and Dubai-curiosity channels.
- 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days for the fan-funding tier; 10 million for full monetization.
- Qualified means engaged views: the viewer stays past the first seconds, and loops are not counted.
- Engaged views sit in YouTube Analytics and run below the dashboard view count.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days.
- 3,000 qualified public watch hours in 12 months for the fan-funding tier; 4,000 for full monetization.
- Public uploads, podcasts and archived live streams count; Shorts watch time does not.
- Hours are checked over a rolling 12 months, so old public videos keep contributing.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days.
A channel qualifies on whichever lane it fills first. Creators in the UAE have a high long-form RPM and an audience already fluent in vertical video, so Shorts are best used to find new viewers worldwide and send them to long-form, while cars, food and comedy channels can still reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours.
Local Shorts tactics
- Burn captions into the frame, in English or Arabic as the channel is; most Shorts are watched without sound.
- Use only copyright-safe audio; Arabic music rights holders claim fast and a claimed Short counts for nothing.
- Three specific hashtags beat ten generic ones; include Dubai or the emirate where relevant.
- Post Shorts daily during Ramadan, the Shopping Festival and the year-end season.
- Watch engaged views in Analytics, not the dashboard count; loops and the first seconds do not count toward the 3M and 10M thresholds.
Shorts RPM is far lower than long-form everywhere (third-party benchmarks put it around 0.03–0.15 USD per 1,000 views), so treat Shorts as the lane that builds subscribers and feeds long-form, not as the main earner. Read how Shorts monetization works for the revenue-share rules.
Write hashtags in your audience's language with the Shorts Tags Generator, pick a title with the Shorts Title Generator, see what is rising in Trending Shorts Ideas and score each Short with the Shorts SEO Checker.

Requirements and the 1 February 2027 change
In the United Arab Emirates you can join the YouTube Partner Program at 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified watch hours or 10 million qualified Shorts views; the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers is also available. From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views.

Thresholds as published on the YouTube Partner Program: обзор и условия участия and Обзор расширенной YouTube Partner Program pages, checked 22 октября 2026 г.. The United Arab Emirates appears on the standard YPP availability list, on the expanded (500-subscriber) list, and on the Super Chat and Super Stickers list.
days until the ad-revenue threshold doubles
Apply before 1 February 2027 and your channel is reviewed on 4,000 hours / 10M Shorts views. After that date new applicants need 8,000 hours / 20M Shorts views. The date that matters is when the application reaches YouTube, not when the reviewer decides; review takes about a month and a rejection means a 30-day wait before reapplying, so December is the last month with room for one retry. Announced by YouTube on 10 August 2026 (YouTube blog). The subscriber count and the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier do not change.
What counts as qualified
Counts
Does not count
- Приватные, доступные по ссылке и удалённые видео
- Прямые эфиры без архивации
- Просмотры, полученные, пока видео или Short показывается как реклама
- Публикации с изображениями, которые появляются в ленте Shorts

Что сокращает путь
Actions that add qualified hours and views, not promises
Nothing on this list promises approval. Each item is an action that adds qualified watch time or engaged Shorts views to your channel, and names the tool that performs it.
Как получать выплаты от YouTube в the United Arab Emirates
Getting paid in dirhams
AdSense for YouTube pays creators in the UAE in dirhams by EFT to a UAE bank account, by wire transfer or by check once the balance reaches AED 350; EFT arrives within seven business days of the 21st–26th issue window.
Payment methods available в the United Arab Emirates
| Method | Currency and arrival | Best for and what to expect |
|---|---|---|
| EFT to a UAE bank | AED; up to 7 business days after issue (21st–26th) | Almost every creator in the UAE. Any Emirates NBD, FAB, ADCB, Mashreq, Wio or similar account; you enter the IBAN and the account holder's name. No fees from AdSense. |
| Wire transfer | AED or USD; up to 15 business days after issue | Creators who want dollars in a multi-currency account or whose bank only accepts SWIFT. Expect a possible inbound fee. |
| Check | AED; 2–4 weeks in the mail, then bank clearing | Rarely the right choice; slow and some banks charge to clear. Use only if the others are impossible. |
| Hyperwallet | Not listed for the UAE | Not available for YouTube payments in the UAE on the AdSense country table as of October 2026. |
Methods as listed in the Способы получения платежей AdSense по странам table for YouTube payments, checked 22 октября 2026 г.. Arrival times from Сроки выплат AdSense для YouTube.
EFT in dirhams is the default to choose. The UAE is one of the countries where AdSense lists EFT and a local-currency threshold (AED 350), so you are paid in dirhams straight into a local account with no conversion. Payment currency is fixed to the payment address once set.
What the bank asks for: the 23-character UAE IBAN and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. For an individual that is your own name as on your Emirates ID; for a company the AdSense payee and the account should both be the company. Some banks ask for the source of funds on regular foreign credits; AdSense receipts answer that.
Name matching. The AdSense payee name must match the account holder exactly; a payment to a joint account or a trade name that differs from the AdSense name is the usual reason an EFT fails.
Set up AdSense for YouTube payments step by step
- 1
Reach the payment-method selection threshold
AdSense lets you add a payment method once your balance passes a small verification amount; add it well before you expect to cross the payment threshold for your currency.
- 2
Add an EFT to a UAE bank account
In AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods, choose the method and enter the IBAN and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. The beneficiary name must match the AdSense payee name exactly.
- 3
Verify your address with the PIN
Google mails a PIN to your the United Arab Emirates postal address once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense within four months or payments pause.
- 4
Verify your identity
Upload a government-issued ID in the payee's name when AdSense asks; the name on the ID, the AdSense account and the bank account must all match.
- 5
Submit your tax information
Open AdSense → Payments → Manage settings → United States tax info and complete the form the guide selects for you so withholding is applied at the correct rate for your country.
- 6
Watch the monthly timeline
Earnings finalize around the 3rd, payment details lock on the 20th, and payments are issued between the 21st and 26th; track your balance toward the threshold from the Channel Analyzer.
ToolChannel Analyzer
The monthly payment timeline
Common holds and how to clear them
Address verification (PIN)
Google mails a PIN once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense. If it does not arrive after three requests, use the document-based option.
Identity verification
Upload a government ID that matches the payee name exactly. A mismatch between the AdSense name and the bank account name is the most common wire rejection.
Tax information
Submit the form in AdSense → Payments → Manage settings. Without it, 24% backup withholding applies to worldwide earnings for individuals.
Payment method missing
Add it before the 20th of the month you expect to cross the threshold.
Worked example: a 100 USD payment arriving в the United Arab Emirates
Example only. An AED 350-threshold payment issued on the 24th by EFT typically lands in your UAE account within seven business days with no conversion and no fee, so the amount credited matches the AdSense receipt to the fils. If the bank asks for the source of funds, the AdSense receipt is the answer. Keep the statement line with the receipt.

Tax and legal basics for UAE creators
The UAE has no personal income tax, but paid content requires the UAE Media Council advertiser permit, corporate tax applies to business income above the threshold depending on your structure, VAT registration applies above the threshold, and the W-8BEN in AdSense leaves 30% withholding on US-viewer earnings because there is no UAE–US income tax treaty.
No personal income tax, but not no rules. The UAE does not tax individual employment or most personal income. Creator income earned through a licensed business, or above the thresholds in the corporate tax law for individuals conducting business, can fall within corporate tax; the thresholds and the small-business relief change, so confirm your position with an adviser. Many creators operate through a freelance permit or a free-zone company.
The advertiser permit. Any paid promotional content on social media in the UAE requires the advertiser permit issued by the UAE Media Council (formerly through the National Media Council). It applies to brand deals and sponsored content, not to AdSense revenue itself; the fee has been waived under the current scheme for an initial period. Operating without it risks fines.
VAT and the W-8BEN. VAT registration becomes compulsory once taxable supplies pass the threshold; AdSense income from Google's overseas entity and domestic brand deals are treated differently. Submit the W-8BEN as a UAE resident; there is no UAE–US income tax treaty, so 30% is withheld from the portion of earnings that comes from US viewers. Without any form, 24% of worldwide earnings is withheld.
Record-keeping. Keep every AdSense receipt and bank statement, the advertiser permit, and invoices for brand deals; banks and the FTA ask for them.
The form inside AdSense is the W-8BEN. Fill it before the first payment so withholding matches your treaty position.
Official page: Federal Tax Authority. US withholding rules for creators outside the US: Налоговые требования США к доходам на YouTube.
Keep these records
AdSense payment receipts
Download the monthly receipt from Payments → Transactions.
Bank statements
Each EFT credit, matched to the receipt; banks ask for source of funds.
Advertiser permit
The UAE Media Council permit and its renewal.
Trade licence or freelance permit (if any)
Plus corporate tax and VAT registrations and returns where applicable.
Brand-deal contracts and invoices
Sponsored content falls under the permit and may carry VAT; keep them separate from AdSense.
Equipment and software receipts
Relevant for corporate tax deductions if you operate through a business; ask your adviser.

Realistic earnings for UAE audiences
Third-party benchmarks put long-form RPM for UAE audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views in October 2026, among the highest outside the West, with Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD; finance, real estate and cars sit at the top of the range and comedy at the bottom.
| Scenario | Long-form | Shorts |
|---|---|---|
| Benchmark RPM per 1,000 views | 4–10 USD | 0.03–0.15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mostly UAE audience (illustrative) | about 400–1,000 USD | about 3–15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mixed audience incl. US/UK (illustrative) | higher, because the US and UK share is paid at 5–12 USD RPM | about 3–15 USD |
Industry estimate, окт. 2026, varies by niche and season. Illustrative rows multiply the benchmark range by views; they are not earnings data from any channel.
RPM is what a creator receives per 1,000 views after YouTube's share; CPM is what advertisers pay. UAE-audience RPM is high because advertisers bid heavily for a high-income audience, and Gulf advertisers often book the UAE and Saudi Arabia together. Finance, real estate, cars and tech content attracts the highest-paying ads, comedy and entertainment the lowest, and a video over eight minutes with mid-roll ads out-earns a short one with the same views.
Audience country matters more than creator country. A creator в the United Arab Emirates whose viewers are mostly in the US, UK, Australia or Canada is paid at those countries' rates, which is why English-language content on Dubai life, cars and expat finance tends to show a higher RPM than local-language content with the same view count.
Shorts are paid from a shared pool and typically show 0.03–0.15 USD RPM. Long-form videos over eight minutes can carry mid-roll ads, which is the single biggest lever on long-form RPM.

Income beyond ad revenue
Beyond ad revenue, creators in the UAE have memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping available with the fan-funding tier, and brand deals are a larger share of creator income in the UAE than almost anywhere, provided you hold the advertiser permit.
Memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping
All available to UAE channels with the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers. Fans pay in dirhams; Gulf audiences use Super Chat heavily, and your share arrives through AdSense.
Brand deals with UAE and Gulf companies
Real estate developers, car dealers, banks, airlines, hotels and retailers spend more on creators per capita than almost any market. Hold the advertiser permit, quote in dirhams, and keep a media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers and audience split by country.
Affiliate programs that pay in dirhams
Amazon.ae, Noon and Namshi programs pay to UAE accounts with no conversion; the Shopping Festival and White Friday are the peaks.
YouTube Shopping
Tag products from your own store or an affiliate program in videos and Shorts. Available with the fan-funding tier where Shopping is offered.
Brand deals
Brands price deals on views and audience country. Keep a one-page media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers and quote in your local currency plus USD.
Affiliate links
Programs that pay to local bank accounts avoid a second currency conversion. Disclose paid links in the description and in the video.
Digital products and courses
A template, preset, PDF or course sells to a small audience well before ad revenue is meaningful. Sell through a platform that pays out in your currency.

Ошибки, из‑за которых каналы в the United Arab Emirates стоят на месте
Mistakes that stall UAE channels
The patterns that stall UAE channels are sponsored content without the advertiser permit, reuploaded football footage, three niches on one channel, filming people without consent, ignoring the corporate tax question, and hiding old videos before approval. Each has a fix.
Sponsored content without the advertiser permit
Paid promotion without the UAE Media Council permit risks fines. Fix: apply before your first brand deal.
Reuploading football or TV footage
Broadcasters claim it within hours and the channel collects strikes. Fix: react to the moment with your own camera and voice instead of showing the broadcast.
Three niches on one channel
A car review, a finance explainer and a vlog teach YouTube nothing about who to recommend you to. Fix: one niche for the first 30 videos.
Filming people without consent
UAE privacy law is strict about photographing people without permission. Fix: blur bystanders and get consent from anyone featured.
Ignoring the corporate tax question
Creator income above the thresholds or through a business can fall within corporate tax. Fix: confirm your structure with an adviser once income is regular.
Ignoring Shorts
Cars, food and comedy channels often reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours. Fix: cut every long video into Shorts with captions.
Fake views from view-selling sites
Views from ad campaigns and view services do not count as qualified, and the pattern can get the application rejected. Fix: stop, delete nothing, and let real watch time accumulate.
Hiding old videos before approval
Setting early uploads to private removes their watch hours the same day. Fix: leave them public until the channel is accepted.
Applying with an unverified AdSense account
Address PIN and identity checks unresolved means the review stalls. Fix: clear every AdSense notification before you submit the YPP application.

Short answers that stand on their own. Each restates the country and the number so it reads correctly when quoted alone.
How many subscribers do you need to get monetized on YouTube in the UAE?
In the United Arab Emirates you need 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days for full monetization. The fan-funding tier is also available in the UAE at 500 subscribers with 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views plus three public uploads in 90 days.
Does YouTube pay in dirhams in the UAE?
Yes. The AdSense table lists EFT, wire transfer and check for the United Arab Emirates, and the AdSense threshold page lists AED at AED 350, so a creator in the UAE is paid in dirhams by EFT straight into a local account with no conversion. The payment currency is fixed to the payment address once set, so choose AED deliberately when you add the method.
When does YouTube pay in the UAE?
AdSense finalizes the previous month's earnings around the 3rd, locks payment details on the 20th, and issues payments between the 21st and 26th if the balance on the 20th is at least AED 350. An EFT to a UAE bank account then arrives within seven business days, so most creators see the credit before the end of the month; a wire transfer can take up to 15 business days.
How much does YouTube pay in the UAE per 1,000 views?
Third-party benchmarks for October 2026 put long-form RPM for UAE audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views, among the highest outside the West, and Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD, varying by niche and season. Finance, real estate, cars and tech content sits at the top of that range, comedy and entertainment at the bottom, and Saudi viewers are paid at similar rates.
Do YouTubers need a licence in the UAE?
For paid promotional content, yes: the UAE Media Council advertiser permit is required for sponsored posts and brand deals on social media, and operating without it risks fines; the fee has been waived for an initial period under the current scheme. AdSense ad revenue itself does not require the permit, but many creators also hold a freelance permit or trade licence to invoice brands. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is YouTube income taxed in the UAE?
The UAE has no personal income tax, but creator income earned through a business or above the thresholds in the corporate tax law can fall within corporate tax, VAT applies above the registration threshold, and sponsored content requires the advertiser permit. Google also withholds 30% of earnings from US viewers after you submit a W-8BEN, because there is no UAE–US income tax treaty. This is general information, not tax advice.
Is Super Chat available in the UAE?
Yes. The United Arab Emirates is on YouTube's Super Chat and Super Stickers availability list and on the expanded YouTube Partner Program list, so channels set to the UAE can turn on memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and Shopping at the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier. Gulf audiences use Super Chat heavily; your share arrives through AdSense.
What changes for creators in the United Arab Emirates on 1 February 2027?
From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue anywhere, including the United Arab Emirates, need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days or 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, double the current 4,000 hours or 10 million views. The 500-subscriber fan-funding tier does not change, and channels already in the program keep their status.
