Как запустить канал на YouTube в Ireland
Set the channel up for Irish search from day one
Open the channel on a Google account you control, set Ireland as the country in Studio, verify with an Irish mobile number, and decide whether the channel is Irish-specific or aimed at the whole English-speaking world, because that decides the keywords.
Irish-specific or global, decided before the name
"Irish Money Matters" draws Irish viewers and Irish advertisers; "Simple Investing" competes with the whole English-speaking world. Both work; pick one so the name and the keywords agree.
Set the channel country to Ireland
Studio → Settings → Channel → Basic info → Country of residence. This is what YouTube checks against the availability lists and what AdSense expects the payment address to match.
2-Step Verification and advanced features
Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account, then verify the channel with an Irish mobile number to get advanced features such as longer uploads and custom thumbnails.
A handle that matches every other platform
Short, no numbers, identical on TikTok, Instagram and X; a mismatch loses viewers who find you elsewhere.
Description in the words viewers search
Write it with the phrases people type ("how to get monetised on YouTube Ireland", "Dublin rent 2026", "GAA championship reaction"), name the upload day, and add a business email for brand deals.
First five videos as one series
Five videos on one promise tell YouTube exactly who to show you to. Mixing GAA, finance and vlogs in week one tells it nothing.
Audio first, then camera
A USB or lapel microphone and daylight outperform a 4K camera with wind noise; outdoor Irish channels need a windscreen on the mic.
Upload defaults
Set video language to English (Ireland), caption language, and the location. Default to public and schedule for 7–9 pm Irish time, which also catches the UK evening and the US afternoon.
Study a channel in your niche with the Channel Analyzer before you pick a name, then draft your first titles with the Video Title Generator. Full setup walkthrough: how to start a YouTube channel.

Niches that grow and pay for Irish audiences
The niches growing in Ireland in 2026 are personal finance, GAA and football, comedy, property, farming, food, tech, education, travel and Irish-language content. Earning potential is qualitative and reflects advertiser demand for each topic.
Personal finance
High earning potentialPensions, mortgages, the rent credit and tax-back explainers draw the highest-paying advertisers in Ireland.
GAA and football
Medium earning potentialThe championship and the League of Ireland are the national conversation; reactions rank within minutes.
Comedy
Medium earning potentialIrish humour travels across the English-speaking world; sketches and commentary build loyal audiences.
Property
High earning potentialRenting, buying and the housing crisis are searched constantly; mortgage advertisers pay well.
Farming
High earning potentialA large rural audience with machinery and agri-brand advertisers; farm vlogs have long sessions.
Food
Medium earning potentialIrish cooking, baking and restaurant reviews; supermarket advertisers.
Tech
High earning potentialReviews and software tutorials; strong tech-employer and electronics advertising.
Education (Leaving Cert)
Medium earning potentialPredictable yearly demand with few polished channels per subject.
Travel
High earning potentialWild Atlantic Way and Dublin content reaches Irish viewers and American tourists planning trips.
Irish-language content
Low earning potentialGaeilge content has a small, loyal audience and almost no competition; strong for education and culture.
Earning potential is qualitative (Low / Medium / High) and reflects advertiser demand and audience country, not a figure any channel will earn.
Saturated locally: generic tech news, broad motivation, reaction channels without commentary and "make money online" channels without a product. The videos are interchangeable, so watch time stays low.
Low local competition: plain-English explainers of Irish systems (Revenue, the HSE, SUSI, the rent credit), county-level content outside Dublin, trades with a camera on the work, and Gaeilge content.
Local audience or global audience? Irish creators already have a high-RPM audience and share a language with the UK and US. Irish-specific content draws Irish advertisers; content that also reaches the UK and US keeps the RPM and multiplies the audience, and the Irish angle is a draw for the American audience.

Grow from Irish audiences
Irish viewers find videos through search and recommendations, watch from 7 to 9 pm Irish time, and respond to Irish references, so Irish-specific topics, a posting time that also catches the UK and US, GAA and Leaving Cert timing, and retention over frequency do most of the work.
Titles and keywords in the words Irish viewers type
Irish searchers type specific queries with Irish terms (Revenue, the HSE, the GAA) and skip anything that reads as American clickbait about American systems. Put the query first, keep titles under 60 characters, and make the thumbnail text say something the title does not.

Thumbnails that work for Irish viewers
Faces with a clear expression, three words of text that add to the title, consistent colours across the channel. What fails is clutter, arrows and text that repeats the title.
Make the thumbnail in the Thumbnail Maker and run it through the Thumbnail Analyzer, which scores your thumbnail before you upload so you can compare two versions side by side.
Posting time in Irish time (GMT/IST)
Irish viewing peaks from 7 to 9 pm Irish time on weekdays, with a second peak on Sunday afternoons around the GAA. The UK shares the time zone; the US East Coast is five hours behind, so a 7 pm Irish upload lands at 2 pm in New York. The Best Time to Post tool reads your own channel's viewer activity by hour and day, which beats any general rule once you have a few weeks of data.
Local trends, festivals and sport
New Year, Six Nations, St Patrick's Day, the Leaving Cert in June, the GAA championship through the summer, the Budget in October, Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas and the Revenue deadline on 31 October are the reliable spikes. Publish a Leaving Cert or Budget video two weeks early so it ranks before the search peak.
Community posts and comments in the audience's language
Community posts with polls about the next topic keep subscribers between uploads. Reply to early comments in the first hour; Irish audiences reward a dry, self-deprecating reply.
Collaborations with Irish creators at your size
Collaborate with creators at your size in your niche. Two 5,000-subscriber channels appearing in each other's videos each gain a new audience; Irish creator Discords and niche subreddits are where these start.
Playlists and end screens
Group videos into playlists named with the search phrase, not a clever title, so the playlist itself ranks. Put the next video in the series on the end screen; a session that continues on your channel is the strongest signal you can send.
What the algorithm actually rewards
YouTube recommends videos that viewers watch for longer, rate as satisfying in surveys, and come back to. It does not reward upload frequency on its own, tags on their own, or keyword stuffing. Read the plain-language breakdown in the YouTube algorithm guide and check each upload with the Video SEO Checker before it goes live.
YouTube Shorts в Ireland
Shorts as a monetization lane for Irish creators
Shorts in Ireland reach the fan-funding tier at 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days and full monetization at 10 million, counted as engaged views; for Irish creators Shorts are the lane that feeds new viewers to long-form, where almost all of the ad revenue sits.
- 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days for the fan-funding tier; 10 million for full monetization.
- Qualified means engaged views: the viewer stays past the first seconds, and loops are not counted.
- Engaged views sit in YouTube Analytics and run below the dashboard view count.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days.
- 3,000 qualified public watch hours in 12 months for the fan-funding tier; 4,000 for full monetization.
- Public uploads, podcasts and archived live streams count; Shorts watch time does not.
- Hours are checked over a rolling 12 months, so old public videos keep contributing.
- From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days.
A channel qualifies on whichever lane it fills first. Irish creators have a high long-form RPM, so Shorts are best used to find new viewers across the English-speaking world and send them to long-form, while comedy and GAA channels can still reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours.
Local Shorts tactics
- Burn captions into the frame; most Shorts are watched without sound on the Luas or the Dart.
- Cut every long video into two or three Shorts that stand alone, and pin the long-form link in the comment.
- Three specific hashtags beat ten generic ones; include the county or the competition where relevant.
- Post Shorts daily during the championship and the run-up to Christmas.
- Watch engaged views in Analytics, not the dashboard count; loops and the first seconds do not count toward the 3M and 10M thresholds.
Shorts RPM is far lower than long-form everywhere (third-party benchmarks put it around 0.03–0.15 USD per 1,000 views), so treat Shorts as the lane that builds subscribers and feeds long-form, not as the main earner. Read how Shorts monetization works for the revenue-share rules.
Write hashtags in your audience's language with the Shorts Tags Generator, pick a title with the Shorts Title Generator, see what is rising in Trending Shorts Ideas and score each Short with the Shorts SEO Checker.

Requirements and the 1 February 2027 change
In Ireland you can join the YouTube Partner Program at 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 qualified watch hours or 10 million qualified Shorts views; the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers is also available. From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue need 8,000 hours or 20 million Shorts views.

Thresholds as published on the YouTube Partner Program: обзор и условия участия and Обзор расширенной YouTube Partner Program pages, checked 22 октября 2026 г.. Ireland (listed as the Republic of Ireland) appears on the standard YPP availability list, on the expanded (500-subscriber) list, and on the Super Chat and Super Stickers list.
days until the ad-revenue threshold doubles
Apply before 1 February 2027 and your channel is reviewed on 4,000 hours / 10M Shorts views. After that date new applicants need 8,000 hours / 20M Shorts views. The date that matters is when the application reaches YouTube, not when the reviewer decides; review takes about a month and a rejection means a 30-day wait before reapplying, so December is the last month with room for one retry. Announced by YouTube on 10 August 2026 (YouTube blog). The subscriber count and the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier do not change.
What counts as qualified
Counts
Does not count
- Приватные, доступные по ссылке и удалённые видео
- Прямые эфиры без архивации
- Просмотры, полученные, пока видео или Short показывается как реклама
- Публикации с изображениями, которые появляются в ленте Shorts

Что сокращает путь
Actions that add qualified hours and views, not promises
Nothing on this list promises approval. Each item is an action that adds qualified watch time or engaged Shorts views to your channel, and names the tool that performs it.
Ireland
Getting paid in euros
AdSense for YouTube pays Irish creators in euros by SEPA EFT to an Irish bank account or by wire transfer once the balance reaches 70 EUR; EFT arrives within seven business days of the 21st–26th issue window.
Payment methods available в Ireland
| Method | Currency and arrival | Best for and what to expect |
|---|---|---|
| EFT (SEPA) to an Irish bank | EUR; up to 7 business days after issue (21st–26th) | Almost every Irish creator. Any AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB, Revolut or similar euro account; you enter the IBAN, the BIC and the account holder's name. No fees from AdSense. |
| Wire transfer | EUR; up to 15 business days after issue | Creators with a business account that only accepts SWIFT wires. Expect a possible inbound fee. |
| Check | Not available in euros | Google stopped accepting euro check payments from 7 August 2026, so check is not a route for Ireland. |
| Hyperwallet | Not listed for Ireland | Not available for YouTube payments in Ireland on the AdSense country table as of October 2026. |
Methods as listed in the Способы получения платежей AdSense по странам table for YouTube payments, checked 22 октября 2026 г.. Arrival times from Сроки выплат AdSense для YouTube.
SEPA EFT in euros is the default to choose. Ireland is one of the countries where AdSense lists EFT and a local-currency threshold (70 EUR), so you are paid in euros straight into an Irish account with no conversion. Payment currency is fixed to the payment address once set.
What the bank asks for: the IBAN, the BIC and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. For a sole trader that is your own name; for a limited company the AdSense payee and the account should both be the company.
Name matching. The AdSense payee name must match the account holder exactly; a payment to a joint account or a trading name that differs from the AdSense name is the usual reason a SEPA credit is returned.
Set up AdSense for YouTube payments step by step
- 1
Reach the payment-method selection threshold
AdSense lets you add a payment method once your balance passes a small verification amount; add it well before you expect to cross the payment threshold for your currency.
- 2
Add an EFT (SEPA) to an Irish bank account
In AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods, choose the method and enter the IBAN, the BIC, and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. The beneficiary name must match the AdSense payee name exactly.
- 3
Verify your address with the PIN
Google mails a PIN to your Ireland postal address once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense within four months or payments pause.
- 4
Verify your identity
Upload a government-issued ID in the payee's name when AdSense asks; the name on the ID, the AdSense account and the bank account must all match.
- 5
Submit your tax information
Open AdSense → Payments → Manage settings → United States tax info and complete the form the guide selects for you so withholding is applied at the correct rate for your country.
- 6
Watch the monthly timeline
Earnings finalize around the 3rd, payment details lock on the 20th, and payments are issued between the 21st and 26th; track your balance toward the threshold from the Channel Analyzer.
ToolChannel Analyzer
The monthly payment timeline
Common holds and how to clear them
Address verification (PIN)
Google mails a PIN once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense. If it does not arrive after three requests, use the document-based option.
Identity verification
Upload a government ID that matches the payee name exactly. A mismatch between the AdSense name and the bank account name is the most common wire rejection.
Tax information
Submit the form in AdSense → Payments → Manage settings. Without it, 24% backup withholding applies to worldwide earnings for individuals.
Payment method missing
Add it before the 20th of the month you expect to cross the threshold.
Worked example: a 100 USD payment arriving в Ireland
Example only. A 70 EUR-threshold payment issued on the 24th by SEPA EFT typically lands in your Irish account within seven business days with no conversion and no fee, so the amount credited matches the AdSense receipt to the cent. The bank statement line shows Google as the sender; keep it with the receipt for Revenue.

Tax and legal basics for Irish creators
YouTube income in Ireland is trading income: you register with Revenue as a sole trader once it is regular, file a Form 11 self-assessment return each year with preliminary tax, register for VAT above the services threshold, and submit the W-8BEN in AdSense claiming the Ireland–US treaty rate on US-viewer earnings.
How it is classified. AdSense income is self-employed trading income. Once it is regular you register with Revenue for income tax as a sole trader, file a Form 11 self-assessment return each year by 31 October (later through ROS), and pay preliminary tax for the following year. PAYE workers with small side income may be able to declare it through myAccount instead; Revenue's guidance sets the limits.
USC, PRSI and VAT. Self-employed income carries USC and Class S PRSI. VAT registration becomes compulsory once turnover from services passes the threshold set by Revenue; AdSense income from Google's Irish entity is treated differently from brand deals, so an accountant sets this up in your first return.
The form inside AdSense. Submit the W-8BEN as an Irish individual (or W-8BEN-E for a company) and claim the Ireland–US tax treaty; the treaty reduces the rate on earnings from US viewers below the 30% default, and the exact rate is shown in the AdSense tax tool. Earnings from Irish, UK and other non-US viewers are not withheld. Without any form, 24% of worldwide earnings is withheld.
Record-keeping. Keep every AdSense receipt and bank statement, plus receipts for equipment, software and a share of home costs; Revenue expects records kept for six years.
The form inside AdSense is the W-8BEN. Fill it before the first payment so withholding matches your treaty position.

Realistic earnings for Irish audiences
Third-party benchmarks put long-form RPM for Irish audiences at about 5–12 USD per 1,000 views in October 2026, with Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD; finance, property and tech sit at the top of the range and gaming at the bottom.
| Scenario | Long-form | Shorts |
|---|---|---|
| Benchmark RPM per 1,000 views | 5–12 USD | 0.03–0.15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mostly Irish audience (illustrative) | about 500–1,200 USD | about 3–15 USD |
| 100,000 views, mixed audience incl. US/UK (illustrative) | higher, because the US and UK share is paid at 5–12 USD RPM | about 3–15 USD |
Industry estimate, окт. 2026, varies by niche and season. Illustrative rows multiply the benchmark range by views; they are not earnings data from any channel.
RPM is what a creator receives per 1,000 views after YouTube's share; CPM is what advertisers pay. Irish-audience RPM is among the highest on the platform because Irish advertisers bid heavily for a small, high-income audience, and UK and US advertisers often include Ireland. Finance, property and tech content attracts the highest-paying ads, gaming and entertainment the lowest, and a video over eight minutes with mid-roll ads out-earns a short one with the same views.
Audience country matters more than creator country. A creator в Ireland whose viewers are mostly in the US, UK, Australia or Canada is paid at those countries' rates, which is why English-language content on Irish travel, culture and finance tends to show a higher RPM than local-language content with the same view count.
Shorts are paid from a shared pool and typically show 0.03–0.15 USD RPM. Long-form videos over eight minutes can carry mid-roll ads, which is the single biggest lever on long-form RPM.

Income beyond ad revenue
Beyond ad revenue, Irish creators have memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping available with the fan-funding tier, and brand deals, affiliate programmes and digital products usually out-earn AdSense for channels under a million views a month.
Memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and Shopping
All available to Irish channels with the fan-funding tier at 500 subscribers. Fans pay in euros; your share arrives through AdSense with the rest of your earnings.
Brand deals with Irish companies
Banks, insurers, telecoms, supermarkets and tourism bodies spend on creators. Rates are quoted per integration in euros; invoice with the correct VAT treatment and keep a media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers.
Affiliate programmes that pay in euros
Amazon Associates (UK or EU storefronts), Awin-network retailers and fintech referral programmes pay to Irish accounts; disclose paid links in the description and in the video.
YouTube Shopping
Tag products from your own store or an affiliate program in videos and Shorts. Available with the fan-funding tier where Shopping is offered.
Brand deals
Brands price deals on views and audience country. Keep a one-page media kit with your Channel Analyzer numbers and quote in your local currency plus USD.
Affiliate links
Programs that pay to local bank accounts avoid a second currency conversion. Disclose paid links in the description and in the video.
Digital products and courses
A template, preset, PDF or course sells to a small audience well before ad revenue is meaningful. Sell through a platform that pays out in your currency.

Ошибки, из‑за которых каналы в Ireland стоят на месте
Mistakes that stall Irish channels
The patterns that stall Irish channels are reuploaded GAA footage, reaction content without commentary, American references for an Irish audience, frequency over retention, missing the Revenue registration, and hiding old videos before approval. Each has a fix.
Reuploading GAA or League of Ireland footage
Broadcasters claim it within hours and the channel collects strikes. Fix: react to the moment with your own camera and voice instead of showing the broadcast.
Reaction content without commentary
Reused content with nothing added is the most common rejection reason. Fix: your own analysis and framing, with permission where needed.
American references for an Irish audience
Irish viewers and Irish advertisers both notice. Fix: Irish terms and spelling in titles and descriptions.
Frequency over retention
Three mediocre uploads a week lose to one that viewers finish. Fix: study average view duration in the Channel Analyzer and make the next video in the shape of the ones viewers finish.
Missing the Revenue registration
Regular income must be registered and returned by 31 October. Fix: register the month it becomes regular and keep records from the first payment.
Ignoring Shorts
Comedy and GAA channels often reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours. Fix: cut every long video into Shorts with captions.
Fake views from view-selling sites
Views from ad campaigns and view services do not count as qualified, and the pattern can get the application rejected. Fix: stop, delete nothing, and let real watch time accumulate.
Hiding old videos before approval
Setting early uploads to private removes their watch hours the same day. Fix: leave them public until the channel is accepted.
Applying with an unverified AdSense account
Address PIN and identity checks unresolved means the review stalls. Fix: clear every AdSense notification before you submit the YPP application.

FAQ
YouTube monetization в Ireland: your questions
Short answers that stand on their own. Each restates the country and the number so it reads correctly when quoted alone.
How many subscribers do you need to earn money on YouTube in Ireland?
In Ireland you need 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days for full monetization. The fan-funding tier is also available in Ireland at 500 subscribers with 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views plus three public uploads in 90 days.
Does YouTube pay in euros in Ireland?
Yes. The AdSense table lists EFT and wire transfer for Ireland, and the AdSense threshold page lists EUR at 70, so an Irish creator is paid in euros by SEPA EFT straight into an Irish account with no conversion. When does YouTube pay in Ireland?
AdSense finalises the previous month's earnings around the 3rd, locks payment details on the 20th, and issues payments between the 21st and 26th if the balance on the 20th is at least 70 EUR. A SEPA EFT to an Irish bank account then arrives within seven business days, so most Irish creators see the credit before the end of the month; a wire transfer can take up to 15 business days.
How much does YouTube pay in Ireland per 1,000 views?
Third-party benchmarks for October 2026 put long-form RPM for Irish audiences at about 5–12 USD per 1,000 views and Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD, varying by niche and season. Finance, property and tech content sits at the top of that range, gaming and entertainment at the bottom, and rates climb from October to December when advertisers spend most.
Do I pay tax on YouTube income in Ireland?
Yes. YouTube income earned by a creator living in Ireland is self-employed trading income: once regular you register with Revenue as a sole trader, file a Form 11 return each year by 31 October with preliminary tax, and pay income tax, USC and Class S PRSI, with VAT above the services threshold. Google also withholds a treaty-reduced rate on US-viewer earnings after you submit a W-8BEN. This is general information, not tax advice.
How do I get paid by YouTube in Ireland step by step?
Add an EFT in AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods with your IBAN, BIC and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. Verify your address with the mailed PIN, verify your identity if asked, and submit the W-8BEN claiming the Ireland–US treaty. Payment is issued automatically between the 21st and 26th once your balance reaches 70 EUR.
Is Super Chat available in Ireland?
Yes. Ireland is on YouTube's Super Chat and Super Stickers availability list and on the expanded YouTube Partner Program list, so channels set to Ireland can turn on memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and Shopping at the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier. Fans pay in euros; your share arrives through AdSense with the rest of your earnings.
