Open the channel on a Google account you control, set Singapore as the country in Studio, verify with a Singapore mobile number, and decide whether the channel is Singapore-specific or aimed at the region and the English-speaking world, because that decides the keywords.
Singapore-specific or regional, decided before the name
"CPF Simplified" draws Singaporean viewers and advertisers; "Southeast Asia on a Budget" draws Malaysia, Australia and the US too. Both work; pick one so the name and the keywords agree.
Set the channel country to Singapore
Studio → Settings → Channel → Basic info → Country of residence. This is what YouTube checks against the availability lists and what AdSense expects the payment address to match.
2-Step Verification and advanced features
Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account, then verify the channel with a Singapore mobile number (Singtel, StarHub, M1 and Simba all receive the code) to get advanced features.
A handle that matches every other platform
Short, no numbers, identical on TikTok, Instagram and Telegram; a mismatch loses viewers who find you elsewhere.
Description in the words viewers search
Write it with the phrases people type ("how to get monetised on YouTube Singapore", "BTO vs resale 2026", "CPF explained"), name the upload day, and add a business email for brand deals.
First five videos as one series
Five videos on one promise tell YouTube exactly who to show you to. Mixing food, finance and vlogs in week one tells it nothing.
Audio first, then camera
A USB or lapel microphone and daylight outperform a 4K camera with hawker-centre noise.
Upload defaults
Set video language to English (Singapore), caption language, and the location. Default to public and schedule for 7–10 pm SGT, which also lands in the Malaysian and Australian evening.
YouTube niche
The niches growing in Singapore in 2026 are personal finance, food, property and HDB, tech, travel, education, parenting, careers, Singlish comedy and fitness. Earning potential is qualitative and reflects advertiser demand for each topic.
Personal finance
CPF, investing, insurance and credit-card explainers draw the highest-paying advertisers in Singapore.
Food
Hawker, café and Malaysia food-trip content has a huge local and regional audience.
Property and HDB
BTO, resale, condo and renovation content has very high intent and property advertisers.
Tech
Gadgets, apps and productivity; strong electronics and software advertising.
Travel
Weekend trips to Malaysia, Bali and Japan from Singapore; airlines and travel advertisers.
Education
PSLE, O-Level and A-Level content has predictable yearly demand; tuition advertisers pay well.
Parenting
Childcare, school and family-budget content with loyal daily viewers.
Careers
Salary, job-switch and NS-to-work content has high intent among a young audience.
Singlish comedy
Local humour with a loyal audience; travels to Malaysia.
Fitness
IPPT, gym and running content with supplement and apparel advertisers.
Saturated locally: generic tech news, broad motivation, reaction channels without commentary and "make money online" channels without a product. The videos are interchangeable, so watch time stays low.
Low local competition: plain-English explainers of Singapore systems (CPF, HDB, IRAS, NS, MediSave), heartland and neighbourhood content, trades with a camera on the work, and Mandarin, Malay and Tamil versions of the same topics.
Local audience or global audience? Singapore creators already have a high-RPM audience and almost no local competition. Singapore-specific content draws local advertisers; food, travel and finance content reaches Malaysia, Australia and the US at high rates, and the Singapore angle is the draw.

Singapore viewers find videos through search and recommendations, watch from 7 to 10 pm SGT on the MRT and at home, and respond to local references, so Singapore-specific topics, a posting time that also catches Malaysia and Australia, exam and holiday timing and retention over frequency do most of the work.
Singapore searchers type specific queries with local terms (CPF, BTO, PSLE, NS) and skip anything that reads as American clickbait about American systems. Put the query first, keep titles under 60 characters, and make the thumbnail text say something the title does not.

Faces with a clear expression, three words of text that add to the title, clean backgrounds for finance and the dish for food. What fails is clutter, arrows and text that repeats the title.
Singapore time (SGT)
Singapore viewing peaks from 7 to 10 pm SGT on weekdays, with a second peak on Sunday afternoons. Malaysia shares the time zone; Australia's east coast is two or three hours ahead; the US West Coast is 15–16 hours behind, so global channels post in the Singapore morning to reach the US evening. Best Time to Post
Chinese New Year, the Budget in February, Hari Raya, Vesak Day, the Great Singapore Sale, National Day on 9 August, PSLE in October, Deepavali, 11.11 and Black Friday, and the year-end holidays are the reliable spikes. Publish a Budget or National Day video two weeks early so it ranks before the search peak.
Community posts with polls about the next topic keep subscribers between uploads. Reply to early comments in the first hour; a Singlish reply lands better than a formal one.
Collaborate with creators at your size in your niche. Two 5,000-subscriber channels appearing in each other's videos each gain a new audience; Singapore creator Telegram groups and Discords are where these start.
YouTube Shorts
Shorts: Singaporean
Shorts in Singapore reach the fan-funding tier at 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days and full monetization at 10 million, counted as engaged views; for Singapore creators Shorts are the lane that feeds new viewers across the region to long-form, where almost all of the ad revenue sits.
Singapore creators have a high long-form RPM and a small home audience, so Shorts are best used to find new viewers in Malaysia and the wider English-speaking world and send them to long-form, while food and comedy channels can still reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours.
સ્થાનિક Shorts યુક્તિઓ
- Burn captions into the frame; most Shorts are watched without sound on the MRT.
- Cut every long video into two or three Shorts that stand alone, and pin the long-form link in the comment.
- Three specific hashtags beat ten generic ones; include the neighbourhood or the dish where relevant.
- Post Shorts daily around the Great Singapore Sale, National Day and 11.11.
- Watch engaged views in Analytics, not the dashboard count; loops and the first seconds do not count toward the 3M and 10M thresholds.

YouTube Studio
Singapore dollars
AdSense for YouTube pays Singapore creators in Singapore dollars by EFT to a Singapore bank account, by wire transfer or by check once the balance reaches S$150; EFT arrives within seven business days of the 21st–26th issue window.
|---|---|---|
| EFT to a Singapore bank | SGD; up to 7 business days after issue (21st–26th) | Almost every Singapore creator. Any DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB or similar account; you enter the bank code, branch code, account number and the account holder's name. No fees from AdSense. |
| Wire transfer | SGD or USD; up to 15 business days after issue | Creators who want dollars in a multi-currency account or whose bank only accepts SWIFT. Expect a possible inbound fee. |
| Check | SGD; 2–4 weeks in the mail, then bank clearing | Rarely the right choice; slow and some banks charge to clear. Use only if the others are impossible. |
| Hyperwallet | Not listed for Singapore | Not available for YouTube payments in Singapore on the AdSense country table as of October 2026. |
EFT in Singapore dollars is the default to choose. Singapore is one of the countries where AdSense lists EFT and a local-currency threshold (S$150), so you are paid in SGD straight into a local account with no conversion. Payment currency is fixed to the payment address once set.
What the bank asks for: the bank code, the branch code, the account number and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. For a sole proprietor that is your own name; for a Pte Ltd the AdSense payee and the account should both be the company.
Name matching. The AdSense payee name must match the account holder exactly; a payment to a joint account or a trading name that differs from the AdSense name is the usual reason an EFT fails.

AdSense lets you add a payment method once your balance passes a small verification amount; add it well before you expect to cross the payment threshold for your currency.
- 2
Add an EFT to a Singapore bank account
In AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods, choose the method and enter the bank code, the branch code, the account number, and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. The beneficiary name must match the AdSense payee name exactly.
- 3
Verify your address with the PIN
Google mails a PIN to your Singapore postal address once you reach the verification threshold; enter it in AdSense within four months or payments pause.
- 4
Verify your identity
Upload a government-issued ID in the payee's name when AdSense asks; the name on the ID, the AdSense account and the bank account must all match.
- 5
Submit your tax information
Open AdSense → Payments → Manage settings → United States tax info and complete the form the guide selects for you so withholding is applied at the correct rate for your country.
- 6
Watch the monthly timeline
Earnings finalize around the 3rd, payment details lock on the 20th, and payments are issued between the 21st and 26th; track your balance toward the threshold from the Channel Analyzer.

YouTube income in Singapore is trade income declared to IRAS as a sole proprietor on Form B, GST registration applies once taxable turnover passes the threshold, and the W-8BEN in AdSense leaves 30% withholding on US-viewer earnings because Singapore has no income tax treaty with the United States.
How it is classified. AdSense income is trade income for a sole proprietor, declared on Form B (or Form B1 if you also have employment income) in the annual filing window. Register the sole proprietorship with ACRA if you run the channel as a business; keep business records from the first payment.
GST. Registration becomes compulsory once taxable turnover passes the threshold set by IRAS. AdSense income from Google's overseas entity is generally zero-rated as an international service; brand deals with Singapore companies are standard-rated. An accountant sets this up in your first return.
The form inside AdSense. Submit the W-8BEN as a Singapore individual. Singapore has no income tax treaty with the United States, so 30% is withheld from the portion of earnings that comes from US viewers; earnings from Singaporean, Malaysian and other viewers are not withheld. Without any form, 24% of worldwide earnings is withheld.
Record-keeping. Keep every AdSense receipt and bank statement, plus receipts for equipment, software and a share of home costs; IRAS expects records kept for five years.

Third-party benchmarks put long-form RPM for Singapore audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views in October 2026, with Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD; finance, property and tech sit at the top of the range and comedy at the bottom.
| 100,000 views, મિશ્ર દર્શકો, US/UK સહિત (ઉદાહરણ) | વધુ, કારણ કે US અને UK ના હિસ્સાની ચુકવણી 5–12 USD RPM પર થાય છે | લગભગ 3–15 USD |
Singapore-audience RPM is high because advertisers bid heavily for a small, high-income audience, and regional advertisers often include Singapore. Finance, property, tech and education content attracts the highest-paying ads, comedy and entertainment the lowest, and a video over eight minutes with mid-roll ads out-earns a short one with the same views.

The patterns that stall Singapore channels are reaction content without commentary, American references for a local audience, three niches on one channel, frequency over retention, treating the income as untaxed, and hiding old videos before approval. Each has a fix.
Reaction content without commentary
Reused content with nothing added is the most common rejection reason. Fix: your own analysis and framing, with permission where needed.
American references for a Singapore audience
A 401(k) video for a Singapore audience loses both viewers and advertisers. Fix: CPF, HDB and local terms in titles and descriptions.
Three niches on one channel
A hawker review, a finance explainer and a vlog teach YouTube nothing about who to recommend you to. Fix: one niche for the first 30 videos.
Frequency over retention
Three mediocre uploads a week lose to one that viewers finish. Fix: study average view duration in the Channel Analyzer and make the next video in the shape of the ones viewers finish.
Treating AdSense income as untaxed
IRAS expects trade income to be declared. Fix: declare it on Form B and keep records from the first payment.
Ignoring Shorts
Food and comedy channels often reach 3 million engaged Shorts views before 3,000 watch hours. Fix: cut every long video into Shorts with captions.
Fake views from view-selling sites
Views from ad campaigns and view services do not count as qualified, and the pattern can get the application rejected. Fix: stop, delete nothing, and let real watch time accumulate.
Hiding old videos before approval
Setting early uploads to private removes their watch hours the same day. Fix: leave them public until the channel is accepted.
Applying with an unverified AdSense account
Address PIN and identity checks unresolved means the review stalls. Fix: clear every AdSense notification before you submit the YPP application.

How many subscribers do you need to get monetised on YouTube in Singapore?
In Singapore you need 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days for full monetization. The fan-funding tier is also available in Singapore at 500 subscribers with 3,000 watch hours or 3 million Shorts views plus three public uploads in 90 days.
Does YouTube pay in SGD in Singapore?
Yes. The AdSense table lists EFT, wire transfer and check for Singapore, and the AdSense threshold page lists SGD at S$150, so a Singapore creator is paid in Singapore dollars by EFT straight into a local account with no conversion. The payment currency is fixed to the payment address once set, so choose SGD deliberately when you add the method.
When does YouTube pay in Singapore?
AdSense finalises the previous month's earnings around the 3rd, locks payment details on the 20th, and issues payments between the 21st and 26th if the balance on the 20th is at least S$150. An EFT to a Singapore bank account then arrives within seven business days, so most Singapore creators see the credit before the end of the month; a wire transfer can take up to 15 business days.
How much does YouTube pay in Singapore per 1,000 views?
Third-party benchmarks for October 2026 put long-form RPM for Singapore audiences at about 4–10 USD per 1,000 views and Shorts at 0.03–0.15 USD, varying by niche and season. Finance, property, tech and education content sits at the top of that range, comedy and entertainment at the bottom, and rates climb from October to December when advertisers spend most.
Do I pay tax on YouTube income in Singapore?
Yes. YouTube income earned by a creator living in Singapore is trade income declared to IRAS as a sole proprietor on Form B, with GST registration once taxable turnover passes the threshold. Google also withholds 30% of earnings from US viewers after you submit a W-8BEN, because Singapore has no income tax treaty with the United States. This is general information, not tax advice.
How do I get paid by YouTube in Singapore step by step?
Add an EFT in AdSense → Payments → Manage payment methods with your bank code, branch code, account number and the account holder's name exactly as the bank prints it. Verify your address with the mailed PIN, verify your identity if asked, and submit the W-8BEN. Payment is issued automatically between the 21st and 26th once your balance reaches S$150.
Is Super Chat available in Singapore?
Yes. Singapore is on YouTube's Super Chat and Super Stickers availability list and on the expanded YouTube Partner Program list, so channels set to Singapore can turn on memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and Shopping at the 500-subscriber fan-funding tier. Fans pay in Singapore dollars; your share arrives through AdSense with the rest of your earnings.
What changes for creators in Singapore on 1 February 2027?
From 1 February 2027 new applicants for ad revenue anywhere, including Singapore, need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 qualified watch hours in 365 days or 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, double the current 4,000 hours or 10 million views. The 500-subscriber fan-funding tier does not change, and channels already in the program keep their status.
